A day at the Ranch
February 17, 2002

Thanks for a really nice afternoon. I agree that just being with the horses and brushing them is a wonderful way to spend a day.

Bandit is a ham in front of a camera, but I guess you knew that already! I like the one where Star and Bandit are both backlit. I took it from inside the hay storage room. the perspective in the picture looks like I had a fish-eye lens, but it’s just the light and the shape of the fence.

The "paint your own ceramic" place at Carmel mountain is called Clay ‘n Latte. They will not fire outside stuff, but maybe if we did some work there one day to establish ourselves as customers, they might fire other stuff for us later. I don’t blame them for being wary of stuff that people bring in. It can really mess up a kiln load of stuff.

The other option is Busy Fingers, in Escondido, but I have not spoken with them. And there used to be a second paint your own place in Carmel mountain. It was next to the Jamba Juice, but I haven’t been in that area in a long time. I think it was a "Color Me Mine."
